Meet the Counselor
Introduction- Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year! I am Tessa Gossett, the counselor at Heritage Elementary School. I am honored to be in my fifth year as the counselor at Heritage. The past four years were rewarding as I got to know the students, families, and staff in our building. I am excited to continue to be a part our school's journey as a Lighthouse School for The Leader in Me and watch as our students grow in confidence and leadership! Heritage Elementary is a great place to be!
Education and Background- I graduated with my Master’s degree in School Counseling from the University of Dayton in 2010 and completed my year-long internship during the 2009-2010 school year at Violet Elementary in Pickerington. I also have a background in dietetics. I enjoyed being a dietitian, however, I am loving the opportunity to be a school counselor. The past four years have been wonderful, growing experiences as I have gotten to know the student, families, and staff of Heritage as well as be a part of the development of our leadership culture that focuses on the whole child.
Additional Information- As a school counselor, it is my belief that all students can learn and my goal to meet the developmental needs of students to help reduce any barriers to learning. I will be offering many counseling services this year including monthly classroom lessons for all grade levels, small groups, and individual counseling.
I am here to be a resource and support for all Heritage students. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at:
